Tired

Back to the doctor (again) today after having the scan on Tuesday. Apparently I have Graves Disease (sounds worse than it is) and I have to have medication. So, on the one hand I am happy that things should improve I am not all that happy about having to take medication. I am one of those people who only take panadol a few times a year. This medication I have to take twice a day and it will take a while to get the dose right, which of course means more trips to the doctor (and more blood tests!!)

However, as the title suggests I am very tired at the moment and have lost some weight (which I would normally be happy about). So I have only fitted in one run since Saturday. Just 6ks yesterday afternoon which I completed in under 42 minutes. I actually felt quite good during the run but nearly collapsed from tiredness a few hours later.

So hopefully this medication will start to kick in and I can get back into training for the half marathon. It is on the June long-weekend so I hope that I will be fit enough.

That's good to find out what the trouble is. Now to get on top of it.

This book looks good. "Living Well With Grave's Disease and Hyperthyroidism" (HarperCollins, 2005,) you can buy it at Amazon for about $10.

All the best with it RU.

Damn thyroids - who needs em?

Nice work with the 6k RU - with your spirit and a few tablets you are going to be punching out big k's in no time.

Keep up the good fight!

Hi RU, At least you know what the problem. Now you'll be able to get it under control and manage it.

I find Better Health Channel a great source of information about health issues. I hope you find it useful with this one.

Good luck.
